About Bridgewater Artist Tom LowellÉ
Learning the admiration of nature from a family mentor gave Tom a solid direction for his love of the outdoors. While in the U.S. Navy, he was inspired to pursue his art career after visiting the art museums in the Mediterranean. Since attending the Art Institute of Boston, he has focused his talents on creating realistic landscapes and still lifes.
As work of his painting abilities and generosity spread, it was not long before he was helping organizations meet their fundraising goals. He was proud to be one of three contributing artists to the Natural Resources Trust of Easton, Massachusetts fundraising poster. Currently, he sells his art at his own Bridgewater gallery and Geary Gallery in Connecticut.
In his paintings, Tom lets you capture through the essence of sunlight, the excitement of a moment or the feeling of a particular time of day. With the acrylic medium, his paint can be alive, fluid, transparent or thick and rich – whichever suits the subject.
Of his work, Tom says: ÒI hope my paintings will give pleasure to many and a renewed interest to the preservation of nature.Ó
